Seniors Yoga Course

As we age, maintaining a healthy body, mind and spirit is especially important. Yoga can be started at ANY age and clinical studies show that yoga can help build the muscle mass needed to prevent osteoporosis, assist with joint movement to relieve arthritis and help with balance. All this in addition to significant mental health and sleep benefits.  Yoga is also an invaluable way of maintaining a vibrant spirit by being a part of a wonderful social community and learning yoga on the beachfront immersed in nature.

Yoga for Seniors classes are held beachfront Kewarra Beach Resort, at the beach shack. Stay after for a social catch-up, tea or coffee at the resort cafe amongst the paperbarks.


Jen has been teaching yoga for 25 years and offers this very gentle 5 week course for mature adults who want to start yoga.  The sessions are designed to minimise getting up and down off the floor. There is ONE transition to the floor only, chairs can be used to assist if needed.


  • Improve activity levels
  • Build strength and stability
  • Improve balance and proprioception
  • Improve mobility and range of motion in all major joints and spine
  • Improve respiratory function and circulation
  • Learn Mindfulness to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.

The classes will include breath work, meditation, gentle stretching to improve mobility, strengthening exercises, balancing movements and guided relaxation.


  • Monday 15th August to Monday September 12th
  • 10am to 11am each Monday
  • Can be attended as a 5-week course ($90)
  • Can be attended casually using a 5-class pass ($99) or drop in ($24)
  • Mats and other yoga props are provided.
