Retreat is a Latin word meaning to  “draw back, to withdraw”

The purpose of a Yoga retreat is to temporarily leave behind the usual distractions we all face to allow for reflection, relaxation and rest. Slowing down enough to tap into the wisdom and needs of the heart for inner and outer change to occur.

The Yoga teachings of Jen are known to have a powerful effect. Her teachings are accessible, precise and intelligently crafted to bring you into greater harmony and balance.

Immerse in the here and now with movement, stillness, introspection, connection, laughter, beaches, rainforest, massages and delicious food.

Enjoy a juicy morning Yoga Flow practice.  The evenings will be sweet and blissful Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and Meditations. Jen’s teaching will awaken your body and mind and leave you feeling calm, grounded and strong.

These retreats will break you out of the same old box, revealing new territory in the body, mind and heart inspiring a dedication to living authentically, courageously and joyfully.

These retreats are suitable for all levels of yoga experience.  Moderate fitness is required.

Accommodation options

Accommodation

Deluxe Cabins

For those interested in more creature comforts, then the deluxe canopy cabins may be for you.

Of solid wooden construction, with ample, screened glass windows, the canopy cabins offer maximum protection from the elements, while still offering a close connection to the sights and sounds of the forest.
Larger than the rainforest huts, these cabins are stylishly appointed with polished wooden floors, handmade natural timber furniture and spectacular glass-walled bathrooms looking out high in the trees.

Rainforest Huts

Elegant and yet rustic at the same time. Accessed by a boardwalk to protect the forest floor, the rainforest huts are designed to be like a bubble in the rainforest and can be opened on three sides by sliding timber and glass panels giving a beautiful close rainforest experience.

Each hut has a small verandah, simple furnishings and sleeps up to two in either double or twin bed occupancy. A simple deck extends from the hut, while privacy is created by the natural foliage of the forest. Gravity fed with fresh, cold water collected onsite, the outside ensuites are appointed with a shower, toilet and hand wash basin so that you can shower in the forest, naturally.

About Jen

My yoga teaching will equip you with tools and practices to go within; to ground and centre, enhance self regulation, manage pain, discharge tension and trauma, soothe anxiety and shift perspective. Most importantly my classes provide a platform to be completely present to your whole self.

Over my many decades of teaching yoga, and through my personal practice, my teaching has evolved to address the challenges we all face now – mental health, physical pain and disconnection.

The Pillars of my teaching include:

Self Compassion and Self Acceptance – the foundation to any inner work and all yoga practice. This is an process of accepting our actual, present-moment experience. When we shut out any part of who we are and what we feel, we suffer. This is a heart opening process – to all of who we are and all of life.

Conscious  Movement –  We have the potential to move in a wide variety of ways. My classes will encourage diversity of movement for optimum health through all ages. Through Yoga Postures, Functional Movement Patterns and Myofascial Release we increase mind/body awareness, release tensions, increase circulation and tissue hydration, improve spinal health, posture, flexibility, strength and balance for a strong, supple and vital body.

Conscious Breathing –  the breath has biological effect on our mental, emotional, and physical state, which produces a meditative and soothing state for mind and nervous systems which allows restoration and healing. The breath is the vehicle for life force ( Prana or Qi), through conscious breath and movement we direct and harness vital life energy.

Self Inquiry – Reflective, contemplative self awareness. Working with the nature of the mind. Reality testing our thinking by questioning stressful thoughts and mental narratives, seeing how emotions live in our bodies and how they affect our behaviour and our minds. Caring self–inquiry invites the habitually hidden parts of our being into awareness so the deepest truth of who we are is revealed.

Connection – to your own humanity and that which unites us all.

These are the pillars of Yoga as a living inquiry for living as a open, awake and balanced being.

I honour and embrace each student’s search for personal growth, health and meaning.

We are all enriched through coming together as a community to breathe, move and awaken.

I look forward to retreating with you
