I have been practicing yoga since I was 16 and teaching yoga for over 25 years. I draw from extensive training both in the Yoga and Fitness Industries where I have had a full time career for 30 years, both teaching and training teachers.
I provide innovative, purpose-driven Yoga sessions based on science, research and the rich traditions of Yoga along with many years of experience with groups and individuals.
My intention is to help build awareness, empowerment, resilience and positive outcomes for health.
My skill lies in being able to translate anatomical knowledge into somatic ‘felt’ experiences providing the necessary self awareness for beneficial change. Through inner sensing, deep listening and responding we can provide the conditions within the body & mind for releasing tensions, healing and thriving.
You can expect slow, breath centred, anatomically focused classes that offer an exploration of movement where you can investigate, adapt and evolve your practice to honour your individual needs and anatomy.
MIND-BODY INTEGRATION : The Pillars of my Teaching
Self Compassion and Self Acceptance – the foundation to any inner work and all yoga practice. This is a ‘soft’ process of accepting our actual, present-moment experience and all of the parts of ourselves.
Conscious Movement – Our nervous systems need and love novel movement that challenge the mind and body. My classes aim to ground and move the body in different planes and patterns with variety in fluidity and form. This variation and freedom in asana extends our movement capacities stimulating the brain and body for better function as well as opens blocked mental, emotional, and physical energetic pathways.
You will increase stability, mobility, strength, self awareness and mental/emotional balance.
Conscious Breathing – One of the fundamental teachings of yoga is that our breath mirrors our nervous system and emotional state and by changing our breath patterns we can at a deep level change the way we feel. Classes include conscious and deliberate awareness of breathing to soothe (or stimulate) the nervous system, inducing a complete physiological and psychological shift.
Self Inquiry – Yoga’s purpose is to bring us ‘home’ of our natural undivided state. By becoming conscious of our thoughts and feelings and embracing our entire ‘messy’ human experience we come to accept ourselves.
I believe humour and laughter is good medicine, stillness and silence is so very necessary and yoga is a sacred refuge for our busy lives. I look forward to sharing the practice with you.

For those interested in more creature comforts, then the deluxe canopy cabins may be for you.
Of solid wooden construction, with ample, screened glass windows, the canopy cabins offer maximum protection from the elements, while still offering a close connection to the sights and sounds of the forest.
Larger than the rainforest huts, these cabins are stylishly appointed with polished wooden floors, handmade natural timber furniture and spectacular glass-walled bathrooms looking out high in the trees.
Elegant and yet rustic at the same time. Accessed by a boardwalk to protect the forest floor, the rainforest huts are designed to be like a bubble in the rainforest and can be opened on three sides by sliding timber and glass panels giving a beautiful close rainforest experience.
Each hut has a small verandah, simple furnishings and sleeps up to two in either double or twin bed occupancy. A simple deck extends from the hut, while privacy is created by the natural foliage of the forest. Gravity fed with fresh, cold water collected onsite, the outside ensuites are appointed with a shower, toilet and hand wash basin so that you can shower in the forest, naturally.

My first ever yoga retreat was way better that I could have imagined. It’s the perfect balance between effort and ease with amazingly varied classes and quiet time away. The resort is gorgeous, and I loved everything about it. Excellent food and coffee and more luxury than I expected. Jen is an incredible teacher, and each class is beautifully curated. This retreat is the perfect antidote for a busy, highly pressured life.

Thank you Jen for supporting a dive into a rejuvenating experience in the rainforest to explore making some inner space healing. It was like an internal massage from the inside out!
This retreat was a nourishing, rejuvenating, and unforgettable experience. I attended in my third trimester of pregnancy, as I have been consistently practicing with Jen throughout. It was the perfect time to set aside for myself and connect to my body and the upcoming, life shifting experience of bringing a new member into our family. Jen’s practicesmet me exactly where I am physically and mentally. She graciously modified the practice as needed to adjust for everyone’s body. She is a gifted and experienced yoga instructor. Her practices are genuine, unique and facilitated with a warm heart. She has excellent knowledge of anatomy and clearly explains each pose with ease.In addition to the beautiful yoga practices, the sanctuary retreat setting was stunning. We experienced the lush rainforest trails, frequent cassowary sightings, and beautiful meals provided the sanctuary that far exceeded expectations.I felt completely rejuvenated by the end of the weekend. I highly recommend this retreat and hope to return again in the future.
Dear Jen, thanks so much for sharing your love of Yoga with us.Each session I thought ” this is the best session so far” until the next session got even better.I think you have designed the program very skillfully, which is probably something that is not so apparent.Alex, GP
The Mission Beach Yoga Retreat with Jen at Core Life Yoga was AMAZING! Jen is a fabulous Yoga teacher and the main reason I went on the retreat. Her style of teaching and energy is so welcoming and empowering, as she gives purely from her heart. I highly recommend anyone thinking about doing a retreat to invest in yourself and joining Jen for the next one. Everything was perfect – the quietness of the resort, the yoga sessions, the amount of alone time, the connection to nature, and of course the food.Sally
I am an official “retreat junkie!” I went to Jen’s first retreat back in 2014 because I knew how much I enjoyed her yoga classes, and figured a weekend of yoga, would be just as much fun. What I didn’t expect was that it would become an annual thing. Retreats with Jen are about so much more than just yoga (although, that part is awesome!). They are about nurturing yourself and giving yourself permission to stop what you think you “should be doing”, and just do what your body feels it needs and wants to do. That may mean going for a hike, or hanging out at the beach, drinking wine, or taking a nap! The beauty of Jen’s retreats is the choice is yours. What you know for certain is that you will get to spend the weekend in a beautiful location, with AMAZING food, a lovely group of people, and of course, yoga with Jen.Sari
Oh what a weekend we had together! After finishing the retreat I feel so inspired and I cannot describe how grateful I am for having had the possibility to join your retreat in this beautiful cassowary environment. It really was such an absolute pleasure to get to know you and spend the weekend with you. I want to thank you Jen and all these lovely and inspiring ladies for sharing your time and your beautiful selves with myself, I personally had such a great time.I think the retreat it a great starting point for developing healthy (physically and mentally) habits. I am certainly taking home a lot from this retreat. KATHRYN ( Germany)Kathryn ( Germany)
