Class Structure

The 75 minute long sessions flows seamlessly through a variety of methods and techniques aimed at offering a comprehensive experience to bring ease and stability to body and mind.

15 mins - Mindfulness/Meditation: Increasing evidence points to regular mindfulness practice as a method to reducing pain. We begin on our backs with a guided mindfulness meditation to support deeper awareness and to induce a relaxation response in the nervous system. We will begin to unlock the power of the breath for effective pain and stress management. Over the 5 weeks we will dive into techniques that unite mind, breath and movement to invigorate, balance, and elevate your overall well-being.

30 mins - Movement: Maintaining a deep relaxed presence we begin slow mindful, mostly floor based movement to explore safe methods for improving spine and major joint health, alignment, stability, and mobility. You will engage in somatic exploration of sensation, breath and movement to facilitate the natural unwinding of muscular and emotional tension to help with movement re-patterning and nervous system regulation and balance.

30 mins - Restorative Yoga: We complete our practice with Restorative Yoga using the support of bolsters, blankets and other props for passive release and deep relaxation. This will include longer holds in passive supported postures that will facilitate the release of deeply held tensions. Ending blissfully with Savasana for deep rest and integration.
