Foundations of Movement

A Whole-Body Approach to Strength, Mobility & Nervous System Support

A healthy, supported body is not created in isolation — it’s the result of how the whole system moves, breathes and functions together.

In this 5-week course, we explore Hatha yoga postures and functional movement patterns to build strength, mobility and stability from the ground up and correct structural imbalances.

This means rebalancing and activating the feet, engaging the deep core, and creating clear, connected pathways into the torso — from the hips upward and from the shoulders inward.

This course supports both physical benefits — strength, mobility, posture and pain reduction — and mental and nervous system wellbeing, helping you feel more grounded, resilient and at ease.

Suitable for all levels.

Blending evidence-based principles with embodied practice, this course includes:

Mobility for hips & spine — easing tension, improving range of motion, and supporting smoother, more efficient movement

Core activation - switching on your ‘cylinder of support’ and learning to connect torso to hips and shoulders

Unilateral strength & balance work — addressing imbalances between sides through asymmetrical postures and movements to improve coordination, stability, and functional strength

Breath-centred practice — integrating the diaphragm, pelvic floor and deep core to enhance stability and motor control

Myofascial release techniques — using therapy balls and simple tools to reduce tightness, improve circulation, and restore ease of movement

Restorative Yoga — supported with bolsters and blankets to promote deep release, integration, and nervous system balance
