Hip & Back Clinic
Support your hips and back with mindful strength, mobility, and breath
This course weaves together foundational yoga postures, functional movement, and corrective exercises to support hip stability, mobility, and back health.
Saturday, 19th October to 16th November
9:30am – 10:30am
Purpose-Driven Movement
The hips and lower back form a complex, load-bearing system that are susceptible to tension, weakness, or instability. Research shows that limited hip mobility, weak glutes, and poor core control are strongly linked to hip, lower back, and SI joint discomfort and degeneration.
By combining strengthening with mobility training, we can reduce pain, improve stability, and enhance functional movement—creating a body that feels supported and capable in daily life.
Movement Longevity
Aging well is moving well. Conscious movement helps prevent injury, maintain balance, and nurture vitality, offering tools for independence and resilience as we grow older. Rather than pushing through or ignoring the body’s signals, we learn to listen deeply—building longevity not only in our joints and muscles, but also in our confidence, ease, and enjoyment of movement.
You will explore research informed practices such as:
Hip & spine mobility sequences — to release tension, improve flexibility, and support healthy movement patterns
Functional core and glute strengthening — with resistance bands and yoga props to build stability, balance, and support for the lower back and SI joints
Breath-led practices — integrating diaphragm, pelvic floor, and core to enhance stability, reduce pain, and calm the nervous system
Myofascial release — using yoga therapy balls and simple tools to ease tightness, improve circulation, and restore freedom of movement
Restorative postures — supported with bolsters and blankets for deep release, nervous system balance, and integration.
